Things to Do
Fishing -
We are located a couple hundred yards from the banks of the
Connecticut River. This offers the fisherman the ability to walk to the river
right from their room. The Canaan-Colebrook stretch of the river presents an
opportunity to fish for some of the largest brown trout available in New
England.
We are also located within 10 miles of the Connecticut Lakes in New Hampshire
and within 5 miles of Lake Wallace, Great Averill Pond, and Little Averill Lake
in Canaan, Vermont. All of these lakes are home to lake trout, land locked
salmon, and rainbow trout.
Hiking
- You can hike Mt. Monadnock right here in Canaan as well as
hundreds of miles of paper company property to explore. We are also within a 20
minute ride of many great landmarks for hiking, some of which include Magalloway
Fire Tower, Garfield Falls, and Deer Mountain in Pittsburgh, NH, along with some
of the most beautiful scenery with tons of well marked trails on Rt 26 in
